B. Com (Hons), Secretarial Practice, Business Administration, Accountancy & Economics (2yrs of 3yr Hons Deg Course at the Goenka College of Commerce, Calcutta) 1968; Secretarial qualifications, Bilston College of Further Educ, Credit in Shorthand 1972.

Administrative Officer & Directors Secretary/Personal Assistant, Supervisor at various companies and educational institution and also at Dudley Racial Equality Council (REC) 1989 – 2006.

Mrs. Maitreyee Sarcar HF FRSA, is the Co-founder, Founding Secretary, former General Secretary, first Patron Member, former Company Secretary/Director of Surdhwani [Co. Ltd by Guarantee], UK. She has also been the Co-Producer & Co-Presenter of Surtarang [Wave of Melody] Broadcast worldwide via the Internet www.wcrfm.com since 4 April 2007. Maitreyee was also a board member of the Newhampton Arts Centre in Wolverhampton [2004 – 2010].

  • Maitreyee was elected an Hon Fellow of the University of Wolverhampton in recognition of her outstanding contribution to Surdhwani, Society for Promotion of Asian Arts & Culture on 9 September 2002.
  • She was elected an FRSA [Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts] for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures & Commerce.
